Gingerbread House

Gingerbread house time! Actually ... graham cracker house , but just as fun to build- and eat!

Bedtime Snow Party

Because the snow didn't fall until night, there wasn't time to play earlier. So, Raja took Andrew, fresh from the bath time and in pajamas, to play outside in the snow. Andrew loved it! Andrew's 'sled' is actually a cusion inside a garbage bag with a rope tied to it. It turns out that the street is pretty deserted at night and becomes the perfect place to play!

Sri Lanka display

This year, at our ward Christmas party we had 'Christmas around the world' booths. This is our booth about Sri Lanka. We wore traditional Sri Lankan clothes, and got to tell everyone about that great country.

Preschool Trip to the Fire Station

Our preschool group along with several other mothers and children took a field trip to the fire station. It was fun to see where the firefighters work, sleep, eat and exercise. The kids loved seeing the fire truck and learning what to do in case of a fire.

Superheroes!!!

Andrew loves wearing his cape! (After all, without it he can't fly!) He wears his super cape just about everywhere he goes- friend's houses, the library, the grocery store etc. He is usually 'Super Why', a character on a PBS children's show, however he has also called himself a number of other superheroes. He also likes bringing Mommy her cape so we can be superheros together!

Our prize D.I. find!

This organ, in perfect working condition was priced to sale at $150. When it didn't sale, it was nearly thrown into the dumpster- until Raja rescued it and bought it for $5.

Going to visit Grandma and Grandpa

Natalia decided she wanted to visit her Grandma and Grandpa. So, we bundled her up and put a return address sticker on her forehead so there would be no mistaking where she should return to.

First Snow Day!

When the snow first began to fall, Andrew was ready to run in it!
(The concept that snow can be cold came later!)

We decided to try to find more
snow, so we went up to Bogus Basin, a ski resort in Boise. It was still closed because there wasn't enough snow- so we just played in a snow covered parking lot for about 20mins. and came home. It was so foggy at some points we could hardly see the road! Raja loves taking his family out for an adventure on his days off!

Watch him go!

He can stack 'em

he can build 'em

Now ya see him

now ya don't!!!

Caldwell Christmas Parade

This year the Caldwell City Night Parade was great! We ended up being able to watch it with a big group of friends from our ward, who all have children about the same age. It was really fun to see all the float's lights- eventhough we froze! Thank goodness for hot cocoa and blankets!

Natalia is walking!!!

This is on Christmas at our friends home. She still doesn't have the confidence to walk by herself, but holding onto this toy, she's great!

Raja's PCC experience pays off!!! (viewer discretion is advised)

The Elder's Quorum activity was a 'Super-Man Saturday', (hmmm... sounding strangely like the 'Super Saturday' recently held by the Relief Society!) They did manly things- like fix cars, grunt, spit and eat a pig!
This is 'Wilbur'. Andrew, Natalia and I were there a few hours earlier ... when this guy was still running around. Raja and the other 'manly men' dug a pit, made a fire (some staying all night to watch it) and cooked the pig- PCC style!

This seemed to be really fun for everyone- digging in with their hands! (hopefully their washed hands!)

Yummy! Most of the families came for lunch- you just can't beat fresh pork!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving dinner was great!
We have so much to be grateful for, I'm glad we can have a
holiday every year just to sit back and remember everything we are blessed with.
Afterwards we drove to Boise...

to the Festival of Trees!

This is in the arts & crafts room. Kids could make Christmas cards and color ornaments.

I couldn't resist a picture of the potato head tree!

Raja and Andrew are coming away from a visit with 'the talking Christmas tree'.
You could sit down and talk to this tree, who could respond to your
questions and conversation... as if the tree were alive!
It was a lot of fun to see all of the trees decorated and to see Santa! That night we stayed at a Marriott in Boise- our family vacation 30mins. away!
